A new video of behind the scenes footage from Louis Vuitton’s fall show just surfaced. Since it may be one of the last with Marc Jacobs at the helm, it’s worth watching. That, and the models have a lot to say.
Only Marc could wrangle a cast including legends like Carolyn Murphy, Naomi Campbell, Stella Tennant and Kate Moss. He said the idea was for it to feel like the audience was in a hotel, “you’re standing in front of an elevator door and you just never know when it opens who’s going to get out, what their story is, so I wanted as many different characters from as many different moments.”
Though Jacobs says they “just kind of wanted to suggest something” and maybe pay a “slight reference to a dominatrix,” the models took their roles more seriously.
Natalia Vodianova called it “good girl gone bad” while Jessica Stam called her character, “a twisted French maid”. Karolina Kurkova said, “It was everything that a modern women wants to be, like when I was walking on the runway I felt like a spy on the street and I was trying to find someone that I want to kill.”
